By participating in our Choir program, youths not only develop new talents ...  more Senior's Choir empowers youths by providing them with an opportunity to enhance their music literacy skills while addressing the pressing issues of youth unemployment and crime. By participating in our Choir program, youths not only develop new talents and improve their cognitive abilities, but they also serve as mentors and positive role models for younger generations. Our unique approach promotes intergenerational collaboration and fosters a sense of community, ultimately leading to reduced youth unemployment rates and a decrease in crime rates. Together, we can create a harmonious society where music education and social integration go hand in hand.  less

The Choir, which has a membership of around 30 voices, was formed in 2007 by its Musical Director, Sheila Farmer. A Cappella is a touring Choir, having visited Prague and France, and hoping to make a tour to Spain in the near future. The Choir rehearses every other Saturday morning, between 10 a.m. and noon.

Lusardi Girelli. Since its creation, the GU Choir has offered multiple programmes, concerts and workshops across Goa and India, receiving excellent commentaries from audience and press alike. During the last three years, the Choir has performed at several important venues such as the Ketevan World Sacred Music Festival and the Monte Festival in Old Goa, amongst others. The Choir has collaborated with renowned artistes from India, Asia, Europe and America, such as the Cappella della Luce Ensemble (Spain), St Ephraim Choir (Hungary), Indo Portuguese Ensemble (Portugal-India), Vandalia and the Seville Chamber Choir (Spain), the Bombay Chamber Orchestra (India) and soloists like Rocío de Frutos (Spain), Leo Rossi (Argentina), Mirjiam Munzel (Germany), Karl Luchtmayer (UK) and Sonia Shirsat (India).
