One of The composer's best-known works, The Totentanz op. 12 no. 2, stands at The heart of this disc. The fourteen motets for Eternity Sunday contained in The Totentanz op. 12 no. 2 were set to music by Hugo Distler and form The work's musical part. In daily rehearsals, choir members hone musicianship skills such as rhythm, sight-reading and The understanding of complex scores. Finally, members learn how to sing in an ensemble and to successfully meld as a team. The chorale is an adult auditioned (SATB) community based chorus based in NE Philadelphia. Our current Artistic Director is Gary Eslinger. we perform 2-6 concerts per year at venues throughout The five county Philadelphia area.
