The Choir is bilingual English and Spanish with a truly international membership. Formado por cuatro mujeres de un coro que cerró. Estamos afrontando los retos de empezar de nuevo. Tenemos un director coral magnífico que está sacando lo mejor de nosotras. No hay audición: solo amor por cantar. Somos una mezcla de personas con mucha experiencia y otras sin experiencia. Words so old, they are new. Two words so sweet the moon floating beyond the trees' branches pauses to fill my mouth. Words so melodious, when an ant inches up my neck, I make no move to brush it off. A pair of words so sweet that despite myself I say "How lovely life is." Calming, gentle, they are like scented oils poured over my body. So sweet and beautiful and my nervous fingers rise toward heaven in imitation of scissors. Yes, tonight my fingers would cut out the stars.  less

This show Choir, under the direction of Allison Surratt, is comprised of students ages 11-14. Students meet each week for a 60 minute class learning the fundamentals of synchronized moves and harmony while singing popular songs. Emphasis is placed on deve...  moreThis show Choir, under the direction of Allison Surratt, is comprised of students ages 11-14. Students meet each week for a 60 minute class learning the fundamentals of synchronized moves and harmony while singing popular songs. Emphasis is placed on developing good fundamental vocal skills, part-singing, sight reading, choreography, stage presence and musicianship. The Charlotte Glee Club performs at Charlotte Academy of Music as well as Community events.
