This is from The OK Chorale's first ever public concert in Woodbridge, Suffolk, UK on 24 March 2012. Not the best of lighting! Also a bit wobbly in places as it was many of the singers' first time in front of an audience. www.chrisrowbury.com

67° Concorso Polifonico Internazionale "Guido d'Arezzo"
(compulsory piece cat. D)
Basilica di San Francesco - Assisi (ITALY)
She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
and all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.
and on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all belo... less

The Requiem is written in memory of my aunt, my mother's sister, Bożena Łanowska (pictured on the programme cover). She was my first piano teacher. for ten years she taught me, starting when I was four, and I believe that all I am now as a pianist I owe to her amazing approach, talent, hard work, unbelievable patience and love. This outdoor performance was the culmination of a six-week project which creates a choir from scratch for one night only. Each winter and summer, Chris Rowbury gathers a random bunch of singers from in and around Ipswich. There are no auditions and all songs are taught and learnt by ear. Usually eight songs are learnt in six two-hour sessions and in the summer are performed outdoors near Ipswich. http://chrisrowbury.com less
