It offers an opportunity to hear the very best in a long tradition of Welsh Male voice singing. Cantorion was founded by Colin Jones in 1992 when he invited singers, who he knew and had taught and conducted previously in other Choirs across North Wales, to join his new chorus. Since Colin and John Daniel's retirement, Aled Wyn Edwards has been able to match their skills in voice production and choral management with the enthusiasm and commitment of some of North Wales finest Male choral singers and soloists and during the last 12 months has established a Male chorus with a special sound and quality now recognised after its numerous tours and performances in many countries, worldwide.  less

This tradition caused another one: in the end of each Choir's anniversary concert, all the former choristers being present among the audience come to the stage and sing these famous choruses together with the main part of the Choir. Horlick High School, Gilmore Middle School, McKinley Middle School, Olympia Brown Elementary, Gifford Elementary, Winslow Elementary, Wadewitz Elementary and AppleChor from Red Apple Elementary combined to sing it as the Finale to the festival. There were about 280 children involved. On Saturday 8th March 2014 the Taunton Deane Male Voice Choir joined us for a concert in Weston-super-Mare. Proceeds from the event were in aid of the Weston Hospicecare charity which celebrates its 25th birthday this year.
