music composed and performed by David W Solomons [aka the dwsChorale].
This particular setting was composed with a small mixed-ability choir
in mind, so the voices are mainly in two parts (men's and women's voices),
splitting to four parts (SATB) occasionally, where the words suggest it.
The musical style is reminiscent of the 19th century although the Piano
part does go into 20th century style syncopation at times.

Christmas In a Minute Chopin/Biegel
Piano music for choir? Why not! Written originally for solo vocalist, I turned this into an SATB choral tongue-twister--a cappella--and then added a Piano part, which was further orchestrated for choirs performing with orchestra during the holiday season....

"If only I were able,
I would sing the poplar rustling with silvery voice,
the sun of the Kurst in a cool September,
the buckwheat in the white sinkhole.
If only I were able, I would sing one, single girl;
I love her so much that I would change her
for anything in the world, anything."

This work reflects some of the history of Manchester as seen through the eyes of local poet Audrey Vaughan, including its origins around the river Irwell, the original monastery which became Manchester Cathedral, the industrial revolution, the Peterloo Massacre, and the singing of church and cathedral choirs up to the present day.
Music composed by David Warin Solomons
Conductor: Zoltán Pad
Tenor soloist: József Gál
Treble soloist: Csongor Gyulai
Organist: Zsolt Mészáros
Pianist: Dániel Dinyés
The boys' choir's conductor was Márton Tóth who taught the piece to the children.
