On its first attempt at ...  moreFormally organized in August 2006, the Ars Cantica Ensemble is a choral group composed of young professionals from different University choirs who want to spread the Word of God through musical talent and commitment to service. On its first attempt at competitions in 2007, the group won Second Runner-Up in the prestigious PAGCOR Chorale Festival and was chosen as one of the top five winners in the Paskong Himig sa Lungsod ng PASIG Chorale Competition. In December 2007, the Ars Cantica Ensemble was featured at the Opening Ceremonies of the Amazing European Union Christmas held at the Podium, Ortigas and was one of the choirs invited to grace the Sing For Me Project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. In February 2010, Ars Cantica Ensemble emerged as one of the winners in Sa ‘Yo Lamang Chorale Fest, a choral competition sponsored by ABS-CBN and Star Records. During the 1990s the Chorale helped re-establish this historic church’s secondary role as a center for culture and community. ADC’s artistic success and benefit to the Cathedral community inspired additional collaborations with other Dallas cultural institutions. In 2001 the Cathedral Chorale became the Arts District Chorale, receiving its non-profit 501(c)(3) status in 2004. Arts District Chorale is now a signature all-volunteer ensemble of 60 gifted amateur and professional vocalists from all walks of life which annually presents four large-scale season events and ten to fifteen smaller events in collaboration with the world-class cultural venues of the downtown Dallas Arts District.
