Founded in 1999, members come from all over the Mobile and Gulf Coast area. We hAve an extensive and varied repertoire, ranging from Gregorian chant to compositions by contemporary composers. Mission Statement: We are a choral community dedicated to musical excellence, glorifying God, and serving others through our collective gifts. Bristol Choral Society is one of the premier symphony choruses in the South West, staging concerts of a very high standard and regularly working with top professional orchestras such as the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, CBS...  moreBristol Choral Society is one of the premier symphony choruses in the South West, staging concerts of a very high standard and regularly working with top professional orchestras such as the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, CBSO and distinguished baroque ensembles, under the baton of inspirational Musical Director Adrian Partington. The choir's size allows it to concentrate on performing the larger major choral works to great effect. The choir has also been invited to collaborate with the Philharmonia Chorus and the BBC National Chorus of Wales on many occasions in recent years to tackle some of the choral pieces requiring even greater choral forces such as Mahler's Eighth Symphony, Janacek's Glagolitic Mass, the Dvorak Stabat Mater and La Damnation de Faust by Berlioz. This setting has been sung in Cathedrals in Manchester, Southwell and Dublin and the Agnus has also featured in services at Christ Church Didsbury. Members of the choir are auditioned, multi-generational, and range in age from 17 to senior citizens. Performance music includes a wide variety of musical styles. Performances take place in local churches, theaters, etc. The Chorale programs two rehearsal and concert seasons each year. Artistic Director & Conductor Jan Lanterman and Associate Conductor Jason Nett conduct rehearsals and performances.
