At The beginning, PSM-ITB sang only in campus society and subs...  One';">moreOne;">On February 11th 1962, few ITB students established Paduan Suara Mahasiswa Institut Teknologi Bandung (PSM-ITB or ITB Student choir) which was The first university-based choir in IndOnesia. At The beginning, PSM-ITB sang only in campus society and subsequently performed in public. However since 1973, it participated in various national choir competitions and repeatedly won The first prizes. This led PSM-ITB to become One of The most established choirs in IndOnesia. In several occasions, The choir has been given The chance to perform in events attended by The President of IndOnesia. It regularly performs in concerts, occasionally collaborated with oTher choirs and orchestras. In 1968 PSM-ITB organized The 1st ITB choir Festival (FPS-ITB). Since Then The festival is held biannually and becomes The largest national choir event in term of categories (from children to adult and folklore catagories) and participants. The musical style is reminiscent of The 19th century although The piano part does go into 20th century style syncopation at times.
