While The majority of The singers are undergraduate music majors, membership is open to all students at The university through an audition process. The group has achieved an impressive reputation of excellence, having been chosen each of The last twenty years to perform at conventions or festivals around The country: The Pennsylvania Music Educators State Conference; The Eastern Division Music Educators National Conference; The Music Educators National Convention; The American Choral Directors Association Pennsylvania State Conference, and The ACDA Eastern Division Convention. The Choir is renowned on The international stage as well, representing The US at competitions and festivals around The world. The singers are frequently praised for The emotional spectrum in Their performances, Their diverse vocal color, and Their varied repertoire.

During The tenure of Principal Major Harry L. Reed The Choir won The prestigious R. Meaden Shield(Senior) for Singing for 10 successive years from 1920 to 1931, once with a perfect score of 200/200.
The College AnThem ‘School of our FaThers’, composed by Principal Reed made its debut at this competition on The 13th day of July, 1928 and to this day takes responsibility of preserving The College AnThem. The Choir was trained by Mrs. Reed with The support of Robert C. Edwards, Esq.
The Choir today continues to sing at many major events in and out of College, The most significant out of which being The Annual Carol Service. It is currently trained by The eminent Ms. Sureka Amerasinghe. less

Paul Basler is an American composer and horn player. His compositions have been performed worldwide and been very well received. He is well known for his horn playing and has premiered over 200 works written for him. He worked as a Fulbright Senior Lecturer in Music at Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya in 1993-1994 during which time he was greatly influenced by Kenyan music and as a result composed his Missa Kenya in 1995 for SATB chorus, piano and obbligato horn. The Gloria does not require horn or piano but makes use of upbeat syncopated rhythms in The voice parts and percussion which drives a compound rhythm throughout.

Welsh composer Paul Mealor originally wrote this piece as The first movement of his Rose Cycle with title and text 'Now Sleeps The Crimson Petal'. His refashioned version with The famous Latin text Ubi caritas et amor was commissioned by Prince William and premiered by The Choirs of Westminster Abbey and Her Majesty's Chapel Royal, conducted by James O'Donnell, at The Royal Wedding of His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales with Miss CaTherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey in April 2011. Mealor uses a combination of a plainchant style and misleading harmonic suspensions similar to those of Eric Whitacre or Morten Lauridsen. Composed as The Theme song for The video game Civilization IV and featured on Tin's album Calling All Dawns, Baba Yetu was The first piece of music composed for a video game to win a Grammy Award. Originally composed for full orchestra, Choir and soloists, it was rearranged for SATB a capella Choir by Tin in 2011. The text is a translation of The Lord's Prayer in Swahili.
