"Love is like a healing dew washing away all hurt". From Lila Flood, arranged by Nickomo. This Concert was the culmination of a six-week project which creates a choir from scratch for one night only. Each winter and summer, Chris Rowbury gathers a random bunch of singers from in and around Ipswich. There are no auditions and all songs are taught and learnt by ear. Described as ‘a fine body of singers’ by John Packwood in the Bristol Evening Post, they have delighted audiences with their fresh, inspiring interpretations of Choral repertory from many centuries. Members of the choir come from many parts of the UK for intensive weekends of music-making, culminating in Concerts acclaimed for their invigorating Choral sound, clarity of tone and texture, and innovative programming. It also aims to provide an opportunity for passionate singers to discover the voice as a singing instrument, develop high-level musical skills related to Choral singing, influence Choral music appreciation, develop cultural awareness, use Choral music as a tool for change in building a better community, and finally, to represent Eastern Visayas in both local and international Choral scenes.
