This 30-strong male Choir aspires to the celebrated male Choral tradition and delights in exploring its infinite artistic depth. Under the leadership of Meng-Hsien Peng as conductor and artistic director since 2013, the Choir has achieved prestige as one of the country’s foremost Choral groups. Throughout its seventeen years of existence, the Müller Chamber Choir has time and time again participated in international Choral events to expand its artistic vision. In 2007, led by maestro Julian Ching-Chun Su, the Choir participated in the 23rd Takarazuka International Chamber Chorus Contest in Japan and took home a gold medal in the Folklore category and a silver medal in the Romantic category, placing second in the overall ranking. Under its dynamic and energetic conductor, Ian Allan, the Choir gives two regular concerts, usually at Christmas and in the Summer, and also takes part in the Mary Wakefield Festival in Kendal. In addition, rehearsals are taken by the deputy conductor, Tracie Penwarden, who is not only one of the region's leading sopranos but a superb Choir trainer to boot. With the addition of David Edmonds as their accompanist, Arnside Choral Society benefits from the expertise of three professionals, each with different specialisms. Rehearsals take place at Arnside's WI Hall in Orchard Road on Tuesdays at 7.30 and we offer a very warm welcome to anybody wishing to join us in singing a variety of styles.
