The New Jersey Chamber Singers (NJCS) is the premier vocal Chamber ensemble of the Jersey Shore. It was founded in 1978 by Dr. Jeffrey Unger for the sole purpose of providing quality performances of choral music written for the small ensemble. In the 32 years of its existence, NJCS has presented concerts throughout New Jersey and beyond. NJCS was chosen to represent New Jersey at the American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division convention in Baltimore in 1984 and again in Philadelphia in 1988. In June 1991, by invitation of the Bishop of Washington, D.C., NJCS performed at the National Cathedral. In December 1998, NJCS was the guest of the Orpheus Club of Philadelphia and performed in their annual Christmas concert at The Academy of Music. In 1999, NJCS performed at Alice Tully Hall in New York City.
MEMBERSHIP

The band sings mainly sacral, including orthodox music, but also contemporary and folk. The Choir has rich concert acti... moreThe core of the team consists of students and graduates of the Gdańsk University of Technology. The Choir's repertoire is very diverse. The band sings mainly sacral, including orthodox music, but also contemporary and folk. The Choir has rich concert activity in the country and abroad and with great success has participated in many choral contests and festivals. The ensemble performed hundreds of concerts and presented its skills at competitions and festivals in Germany, Spain, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary and many others. The Choir has recorded a few CDs: "Bogoroditse Devo, Raduisya" from 2008, "Musica Sacra" from 2013, "Canticum Canticorum" from 2017.
