Manx voices, formally the Manx Girls Choir, was formed 60 Years ago by Harry Pickard, and the choir has undergone many changes since then, including its name and the membership and audition rules which are now much more flexible. We live in the Isle of Man, a small island with a population of about 80,000 situated in the Irish Sea, between England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland. It is a Crown Dependency which means it is a self governing possession of the British Crown. We are very proud of our parliament, Tynwald which claims to be the world's oldest parliament in continuous existence, dating back to 979. We also issue our own bank notes, coins and stamps and enjoy a unique perspective in terms of our language, (Manx Gaelic), history, music and art. It is a beautiful island with very varied scenery.
the choir is SSA, (soprano, mezzo-soprano and alto) and has a membership base of around 40 members under the watchful eYe of Musical Director, Angela Stew... less

When he killed the Mudjokivis,
Of the skin he made him mittens,
Made them with the fur side inside,
Made them with the skin side outside.
He, to get the warm side inside,
Put the inside skin side outside;
He, to get the cold side outside,
Put the warm side fur side inside.
That's why he put the fur side inside,
Why he put the skin side outside,
Why he turned them inside outside less

Jazzva's repertoire consists of many different genres, pop, rock, classical music, jazz, arrangements of folk songs and many more. As experienced choir Singers, they are used to Singing with as well as without electronic amplification. they also try to incorporate some choreography to their own music, thus making it even more interesting and fun.
At the moment, Jazzva is officially the best a-cappella group in Slovenia. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 Jazzva won at Sredi zvezd, the Slovenian national pop-jazz a-cappella competition three consecutive times. they also got a prize for the best vocal arrangement of the competition all three times (the last two Years the arrangements were made by the group's artistic director Jasna Žitnik).
