Formed in 1956 as the Derby Police Choir, the choir retained a long-standing connection with the Derbyshire Constabulary until 2018 when the choir separated from the police and rebranded with an emphasis on promoting male Voice choral singing and raising ...  moreFormed in 1956 as the Derby Police Choir, the choir retained a long-standing connection with the Derbyshire Constabulary until 2018 when the choir separated from the police and rebranded with an emphasis on promoting male Voice choral singing and raising money for charity- epitomised through charity registration in 2020. DCMVC rehearses Mondays 7:30-9:30pm at St Osmund's Church, London Road Derby. The choir is also available to book for events. For more information, see our website.

The choir continually strives to sing at professional standards under the expert musical directorship of David Crown. The choir has a varied programme throughout the year including charity concerts, festivals, workshops, Come and Sing events, CD recordings and a hugely popular Carol Concert.

Their mission is to entertain, educate, unite and uplift their audiences and members through music that is distinguished for its innovation, diversity and artistic excellence. Their philanthropic mission is to provide funding and support for music education in our schools and the community. On September 10 of this year, Nashville Singers awarded their first Music Makes a Difference music education grant to John Overton High School. The singers are all volunteers, range in age from teenagers to retirees and travel from five different counties throughout Middle Tennessee to be a part of the chorus. In their first four years, this volunteer group of songsters has already learned 42 songs, released their first CD, racked up 53 performances for 32 organizations across Middle Tennessee, and produced a successfu...    less

The choir performs every Sunday evening in the Roman Catholic cathedral of St. Colman's, a majestic building situated on a Hill in the town famed for being the last port of call for the Titanic. The membership of the choir has grown considerably in the last five years and it now boasts more than 30 Voices. The choir is a previous winner at the world famous Cork Choral Festival and has travelled to Vienna, London and Italy to perform at various events. In 2009 the choir was honored to be asked to sing in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City for the Sunday liturgy. That same year they also performed at Westminster Cathedral. They have been asked back to St. Peter's in July 2013 to perform again. The group me...  moreMind & Soul is a community choir based at the Maudsley Hospital in South London, which is open to SLAM service users/staff, their friends and carers, local people and anyone who accesses mental health services, as well as those who don't. The group meets every Wednesday evening in the gym at the Maudsley Hospital, 115 Denmark Hill SE5 8AZ between 6-7pm. Our patron is the wonderful Mary King.
