We offer real opportunities to make new friends and sing together and, by encouraging our members to help out in the running of the Choir and choosing our repertoire, we aim to create a 'Tottenham Choir' sound that truly and accurately reflects the diversity of the local community.

The forty boys of the Choir are educated at Westminster Under School, part of London’s historic Westminster School, established before 1179 as a monastic school of the Benedictine Abbey of St Peter. In 1560 the school was re-founded by Queen Elizabeth I for boys to be “liberally instructed in good books to the greater honour of the state.” Ever since, the school’s history has been intertwined with the momentous state events and political turmoils of the capital. Old Westminsters dominated Parliament for most of the eighteenth century and the output of leading politicians, statesmen and soldiers has continued to this day. The school’s contribution to literature, philosophy and the arts has been immense, from such alumni as Ben Jonson, John Dryden, Henry Purcell and Christopher Wren to A.A. The Choir Collegium Cantorum is energy and professionalism and intensive, systematic artistic work, which enables continuous improvement of skills and preparing a comprehensive and highly diversified repertoire. The singers of the Choir easily cope with different styles of music like classical music, opera music, a musical or popular music, as well as in contemporary compositions. The school's Choir became very successful in the mid-1980s, winning many competitions including the Llangollen Eisteddfod. When school was over, it seemed natural to carry on singing together as a Choir, and the group's achievements included reaching the semi-finals of Sainsbury's Choir of the Year and appearing on Opportunity Knocks. In the 1990's, the Choir moved to Harrow and officially became known as Jubilate. Sarah Stroh took over as Musical Director in 1999 and since then the Choir has grown significantly, doubling in size to its current membership of 43. There are still some original members of the Choir, who have been singing together for more than 25 years. The repertoire of Mundus Cantat, a mixed chamber Choir, includes various kinds of music – old melodies, modern songs as well as sacral music and popular music. Its members have participated in many major music events, such as oratorio performances dedicated to Pope John Paul II or a concert directed by Enio Morricone during the Solidarity Festival.
