About The Choir
The Udiana Choir (formerly, Kolot Hasadeh) was founded by Anat Aharoni at Kibbutz Harduf in 2004. Udiana is unusual on The Israeli scene, has appeared on some of The best stages in The country, and is praised highly by The audiences. The choir sings mainly a capella, with an emphasis on current music, and integrates improvisation, drumming, and movement.
Udiana has been supported by The Ministry for Culture and Sport since 2012.
We aim to express processes in human development, so we build our programs around subjects that we research from different angles, including “Prayer”, “Song of The Earth”, “Peace”, and “Water”.
in 2016 we created a program called “Silence” in collaboration with The Israeli Brass Quintet. in 2017 The subject was “My Soul Returns to The Fire”, where we explored The quality of fire in our lives.

The Ensemble performs in some of The most important music festivals in Israel, and has won first prize and a gold medal in The international Liturgic Music Competition for choirs 1996, sponsored by The Vatican. On 2001 Jerusalem A-Cappella Singers performed a world premier in Jerusalem and Italy of a Mass in Arabic by faTher Armando Pieruchi and in 2009 They were invited to take part in a special project for Christmas which was produced and filmed in Jerusalem by The BBC and forecasted later in England.

During its 25 years of activity, The ensemble has won several first prizes in choral competitions in Israel and Europe, performed in many musical festivals and events, as well as TV shows and radio programs. The ensemble collaborated with top Israeli musicians such as Yoni Rechter, Alon Olearchik and many more.
Coral Ensemble has released 3 albums: Coral Ensemble (1994), Troubdour (2010), At This Time (2017), and a recording of Tzvi Sherf's composition, based on 6 Hasidic Nigunim – Kachomer Beyad Hayotzer (As The Clay in The Potter's hand) (2019).
