The choir is open to adults 18+ irrespective of age or ability. There’s no audition and no need to be able to read music. The choir is directed by Jenny Bennett, an experienced and inspirational choir director.

Chantage performs a wide range of repertoire, programming works traditionally performed by English chamber choirs aLongside lesser known works sourced from foreign choral cultures. The fabulous amazing spectacular Carol Stenson is their Long standing director. South Salem took FIRST PLACE at Oregon's State Competition. This was their second song of four. This whole competition took place at George Fox University in Newburg Oregon. The South Salem Saxons also took first at their Districts festival in Salem/Keizer Oregon.
