In The World Choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became The 'World CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got The 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning 2 more gold medals in 'Grand Prix of Choral Music' The champions competed in, The choir has come back to Turkey with a total of 5 gold medals. Solomons and Text by Thomas Clarke. This setting for Christmas represents The cold of a NorThern winter (The cruel wind blows) although of course The actual events took place in raTher warmer climes. It also reflects much of The liturgical and popular symbolism of The Christmas season: robins, holly etc and it brings our thoughts towards The season of Easter with The blood of Good Friday.
