Kikimasu (grades 4-6) offers a focus on thorough and excellent music education, with singers learning about healthy vocal production, the body-voice connection, and vibrant performance presence, as well as ant emphasis on musical literacy, music theory, and sightsinging skills. As with all our ensembles, Kikimasu provides a secure and accepting social environment where all singers feel their importance as members of the group. Most importantly, Kikimasu has fun and creates exciting music!
Kikimasu means “hear it” in Japanese; you can look forward to hearing the music they make at every concert! less

The set was recorded and produced in December of 2010 by Allen Larsen in the CWU music building concert hall. The poems, by Joanne Gunnerson, were set by composer John Muehleisen. Bounty and Aversion to Carrots were written for the Seattle choir Opus 7, The third song, RAH!, was commissioned by CWU.

The choir rehearses weekly during school term time, and performs three or four concerts per year. The choir normally performs unaccompanied, with programmes mixing sacred and secular music drawn from all historical periods and spanning many different styles. Recent programmes have included works by Britten, Whitacre, Lauridsen, Byrd, Tallis, Palestrina, Finzi, Rutter, and many others. less
