The Chorus specializes in the performance of Negro spirituals and is dedicated to its preservation as well as the performance of works by African American composers. The CSCC also maintains a liberal helping of standard classical music in its repertoire. Its members come from all walks of life, unified by their mutual love of great music. This award-winning ensemble has performed numerous times on radio, presented its own television “Special” on the statewide educational television network, as well as appearances on local TV stations. This past Christmas, the CSCC’s 2015 Community Celebration of Christmas was broadcast on public television WGTE. The establishment of the chorus is to build a platform for the youth to promote choral music and realize their dreams, as well as to organize different cultural exchange activities to promote music and serve the society. In the summer of 2011, HKVC held their debut concert “Sing Out a Dream” in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall to raise funds to support the charitable work of the Lions Club of Central. In 2012, the chorus organized and performed five shows of a grand scale original youth choral musical “Like. So?”. The musical received positive comments and the chorus was even invited by renowned pianist Ms. Nancy Loo to an interview and performance in her RTHK 4 Radio Program “Cantilena”. Founded in 2003 by ex-choristers of Westminster Abbey, VOCES8 first achieved success in 2005, winning first prize at the International Choral Grand Prix in Gorizia, Italy. Our performances intentionally address themes highlighting diverse solo and choral voices, new and underrepresented composers, visual and other performing Arts, and community partners. Resonance seeks to reflect on the most pressing social issues of our times through performing new music and sharing many perspectives. As Oregon Arts Watch wrote in June 2019, “they do social justice music justice: their concerts are part social commentary, part group therapy, and part best damn Choir show in town.” Our concerts are designed to reflect the times, and audience members often tell us that they see their experiences reflected in our thought-provoking performances.  less

During its 25 years of activity, the ensemble has won several first prizes in choral competitions in Israel and Europe, performed in many musical festivals and events, as well as TV shows and radio programs. The ensemble collaborated with top Israeli musicians such as Yoni Rechter, Alon Olearchik and many more. Peut-être aurez-vous envie de prolonger cette rencontre et de partager avec nous cette passion de la musique que nous vivons depuis 1971. Composé de près de cent choristes issus de Meudon ou de communes voisines, le Chœur de Meudon a pour objectif la diffusion d'œuvres chorales sacrées ou non de toutes époques, du Baroque au XXème siècle, au rythme d'environ deux programmes par an. Le Chœur de Meudon se produit avec des formations orchestrales professionnelles ou amateur tant à Meudon que dans de grands lieux : églises de La Madeleine, Saint-Louis-en-l'Ile, Saint-Roch, Salle Gaveau, Atrium de Chaville, Cathédrale d'Evry...
