Led by British composer and choral director Benjamin Thiele-Long, the Choir’s repertoire blends early and renaissance European sacred choral music with modern spiritual and secular polyphony from around the world. Stellarum is founded on the principles of encouraging amateur musicianship of all levels. Our aim is to provide a safe and encouraging space to develop and learn a challenging and engaging repertoire while delighting audiences with a beautiful, evocative, and technically excellent performance.  less

The emphasis is on enjoying singing together with lots of energy and enthusiasm. Everything is taught by ear - no written music is used at all. We perform at community events and have members from across the mid-Cornwall area.  

Formed in 1956 as a member of the Pikington Glass Company Sports & Social Club, the Choir membership has changed significantly over the years. The formal and financial relationship with the Company ceased some time ago but the name is retained...  moreFormed in 1956 as a member of the Pikington Glass Company Sports & Social Club, the Choir membership has changed significantly over the years. The formal and financial relationship with the Company ceased some time ago but the name is retained for sentimental reasons. The Choir is known for its friendly and embracing nature and the current 34 men & women members who are very keen to welcome new members of all Voice Parts. The Choir's repertoire and is made up of a wide selection of musical genres which appeal to both members and audiences alike.Composers and arrangers are generally modern from UK and USA. Stage songs/ medleys are particular favourites of Choir members.  less
