In mid-April, 2011, composer Ola Gjeilo spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus to join the Choir in recording 3 of his pieces, (the teaser/trailer URL is found below) This performance of Gjeilo's "Ubi Caritas" is from that session, following a rendition in which the composer joined the Choir and improvised an accompaniment (URL below). In this video the Choir sings the piece in its published (unaccompanied) version. One behind-the-scenes comment: On the last page of the piece, when the first melodic material occurs again - Ola, who was sitting in the hall, asked half the Choir to hum while the other half sang to create a more ethereal effect. Since its formation it has presented well over 100 perfor...  moreThe Elgar Chorale is a Worcester-based group of up to 40 singers, founded by Dr Donald Hunt which has always specialised in English Music, with a particular emphasis on the works of Edward Elgar. Since its formation it has presented well over 100 performances and ppeared at each of the Worcester Three Choirs Festivals from 1981 to 1996. Performances have included world premières of works by Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, Herbert Sumsion and Howard Blake, and a British première of Leonard Bernstein’s Missa Brevis. The Chorale was also the principal choral group at the highly successful Elgar Festivals at Worcester in 2007 and 2009, and last year enjoyed a concert tour in Devon, singing at Colyton, Dartmouth, Exeter and Torquay. It is proud to have Dame Janet Baker, C.H as its Patron.  less

Flos Campi (meaning "flower of the field" in Latin—from the Song of Songs) is an early Music ensemble comprised of students from the University of Southern California. We specialize in repertoire from 1750 and before.

We are a medium size Choir of about 50 members who perform classical Music, mainly baroque, classical and 20th century periods. We give several major concerts each year, mostly in Wellington.
