Integrates more than twenty young people between fourteen and eighteen years of age who have, in Music, a common denominator. Intends to continue developing Their vocal talent, working a varied repertoire in multiple languages, styles, and four mixed voices (SATB) a cappella or in collaboration with instrumental ensembles. Has The support of The Instituto Politecnico de Castelo Branco, through The provision of space for rehearsals, on Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas de Castelo Branco (ESART). Fifteen days after its formation, The band was invited to participate in The IX Spring Concert (Covilha), with The Theme "East and West", taking place on March 15, 2015. This four part Chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and Contemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and higher, and young men with changed voices. The SYC annually participates in The Family Christmas Concert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra concert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, The SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined The senior and chamber choirs in Their 2009 tour to The UK. They were ecstatic to receive 8th place standing in The Mixed Voices category at a festival that boasts participants from over 50 different countries. The Outer Banks Chorus is a group of 80+ singers dedicated to bringing excellent choral music of all kinds to Dare County, North Carolina and The surrounding areas. Initially formed in 1987 simply as a means for those interested to gaTher togeTher to sing...  is).getParent().getNext().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">moreisplay:none;">The Outer Banks Chorus is a group of 80+ singers dedicated to bringing excellent choral music of all kinds to Dare County, North Carolina and The surrounding areas. Initially formed in 1987 simply as a means for those interested to gaTher togeTher to sing, more formal concerts were later organized and presented. In addition to two planned concerts a year (a Christmas concert in The Fall and a Spring concert), There are frequently requests from local organizations for appearances. For example, in The spring of 2011, The group performed at The Wright BroThers Monument for The Centennial of The Wright BroThers Glider Flight. The repertoire of The Outer Banks Chorus ranges from The Classical to Broadway, and spirituals of all kinds and in different languages. Recently The Chorus has sung a number of premiere performances of pieces by contemporary composers. Our director is Linda Corcoran who also directs The current UK Champions ‘ The Great Western Chorus of Bristol’. Our director is Linda Corcoran who also directs The current UK Champions ‘ The Great Western Chorus of Bristol’. We are actively recruiting new members and have ambitions for national and international performance. Almost all of our members are also in oTher choirs and 'The Feds' rehearse togeTher only once per month on average, so it is possible to stay with your current choir and with us.
