Its activities soon expanded and now include a regular concert programme, weddings and services throughout Staffordshire and the West Midlands, and guest appearances at other cathedrals. The Choir has a versatile repertoire of sacred and secular music ranging from the Renaissance to the contemporary, and it enjoys the challenge of new and experimental writing. Widely acclaimed Sunday morning broadcasts on BBC Radio 4 have raised its profile well beyond the region, as have its two appearances in the BBC Sainsbury's Choir of the Year Competition, several performances in the Lichfield International Festival, and the recordings 'In Every Corner Sing' (Regent REGCD196) & 'Belgian Choral Works' (Regent REGCD241) with the Lichfield Cathedral Choir and the Fine Arts Brass Ensemble. Orpheus has performed throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area at venues including the regional conference of the American Choral Directors Association, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Kimbell Museum of Art, UT-Southwestern Medical Center, Children’s Medical Center-Dallas, and numerous public schools.
