During the fall semester, Voices embarked on rehearsing and preparing 4 selections to be audio recorded and produced with video. For this piece, “Space In Between Us,” it occurred to me that as the community chorus of Chapel Hill, it seemed appropriate to feature images of familiar spaces/places in and around Chapel Hill. We wanted to give deference to St. Thomas More and University Methodist, as they have been so gen... less

We run inspirational residential courses and training programmes, create remarkable concerts and performances, and work in partnership to get singing happening in schools and open settings. We do it because singing together at the highest level transforms young people's lives, and we want to make sure that as many as possible get the chance to experience it for themselves. less

They wanted to show how two seemingly different cultures can fuse together to produce something Great. This vision has grown into Chai-Town A Cappella.
Last year we performed at the a cappella competition Anahat, in Berkeley, CA, as a guest act at the dance competition Naach Nation, in New York, NY, and across the Midwest. As 2012 approaches, our group will be reaching its 10th anniversary and putting out our THIRD studio album!
Chai-Town is a completely student-run, non-profit group of 16 members, each of whom has a passion for music. We love sharing this passion with our friends and family, our community, and the world. less

Johansen Choirs are truly honored to represent our community in various capacities as well as having the opportunity to tour throughout California, often giving students their first experience outside of Stanislaus County.
We are excited that nearly 60 students will participate in the vocal music program at Johansen High School this year. Last year our choirs participated in multiple festivals, sang by invitation at many local events and toured San Diego. The department’s Viking Singers won a contest this summer and sang on stage with Foreigner at the County Fair. These talented students have been invited to participate in Gallo Center for the Arts first ever a cappella festival in April 2013.
