I started this almost immediately after my first choral video went up. I love these choral multitracks but they are very tedious to edit and very long to record. just so you know, because I know people are going to ask, the soprano solo at the beginning is in the box in the top-left corner as always there is no autotune used. so because of all my hard work I think it would be wonderful if you would all like, subscribe, comment and share it with your friend. it would mean a lot to me :) --Composed by Eric Whitacre--  less

Robin Adair arranged for SATB choir (sung, transposed down in this video, by the one-man multitrack choir dwsChorale) [Note: a few textual errors have crept into the performance - but the score has the correct words] The original tune was composed...  moreRobin Adair arranged for SATB choir (sung, transposed down in this video, by the one-man multitrack choir dwsChorale) [Note: a few textual errors have crept into the performance - but the score has the correct words] The original tune was composed with the words Eibhlin a Ruin (Ellen Aroon or Eileen Aroon) by the Irish bard Carroll O'Daly (14th Century), although it was later attributed to the 18th century Irish composer Charles Coffey (this was presumably an arrangement of the original). The words of "Robin Adair" itself are understood to be by Lady Caroline Keppel, who was in love with a surgeon by that name. (This seems more likely than the theory that Robert Burns wrote it, although Burns certainly knew Keppel's lyrics and made his own parodies upon the words). Some later versions of the melody contain "Scotch snaps" but this version follows the simplest melodic line, without the Scotch snaps - possibly O'Daly's original tune? - and with quite romantic choral harmonies.  less

The work is a melancholic love song that is based on a folk like melody underlined by a constant pedal point, resembling the sound of bagpipes.

What was once a packed out mass full of joy and pray...  moreIgnite Gospel Choir was founded by Keara Sheeran… In Oct of 2008 I returned to the Jes church, the place I had grown up with my father running the folk mass choir. He had retired 12 years previously. What was once a packed out mass full of joy and prayer, families and young couples, singles and religious, was now a quieter mass with no choir and I saddened by this. I offered my services as a singer and musician to come and provide music for the 5:30 mass and within a few short weeks I returned to the place I consider my spiritual home. I had not purposely set out to start a choir but people began to approach me with a desire to sing and it was a need within the community I was not going to Ignore. On the 12th Dec 2008 The Jes Gospel Choir was birthed with 5 singers and me & it was a wonderful experience and we received a very warm welcome. They are every man in the street but with one thing in common,they love to sing and entertain.The choir is renowned for there entertainment value as well as there singing. No venue is too small or too big.The choir regularly sings for charitable organisations and has over the years raised several thousands of pounds. Musical Director Judith Pinguey prides herself on the varied music the choir sings and has a very progressive outlook on MVC Music and likes to challange the pre concieved image of a male voice choir.  less
