The choir is made up of 25 members from a variety of professional backgro... moreThe Gesualdo Chamber Choir was founded in 2000 by conductor András Stimecz with the aim to popularize Hungarian culture worldwide and introduce foreign choral traditions to Hungary. The choir is made up of 25 members from a variety of professional backgrounds, including teachers, scientists, clerics, accountants, carpenters, and engineers. The choir's repertoire consists mainly of choral works from the renaissance and 20th century, as well as contemporary pieces in Hungarian, English, Latin, Italian, French, and German.
The Gesualdo Choir has earned several national and international awards, winning top ratings in Hungary as well as 2nd and 3rd place prizes at the prestigious Tonen choir competition in the Netherlands. The Choir performs 15 times each year within Hungary, and continually seeks opportunities to spread the beauty of the Hungarian choral tradition abroad.

The group pursues two main aims: on the one hand to revive Old, nearly forgotten Carinthian Folk Songs, and on the other hand to enrich the Carinthian music scene by new Songs and interpretations. The Oktet Suha has performed more than 1400 times in Austria and all over Europe, as well as in the USA, Australia, Ukraina, Argentina and Canada. They had lots of tv and radio appearances worldwide. Oktet Suha has released 12 CD ́s since and is the main organizer of the annual cross boarder vocal Festival Suha.
