A mihi pepeha, hailing the fabrics of space and the throes of the heart, is joined by the organ – a giant celestial factory, chaotic and cacophonous, with great starry arms placing pieces into unique moulds forming the fragments of the final section of the work – a mighty invocation of the whakatauki. less

Our purpose is “to sing, in harmony, a variety of music for the enjoyment of the members as well as to give public and private performances for the listening Pleasure of others”. During our musical season (September – June), the choir practices on Monday evenings from 7 – 9:30 PM at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Richmond. In addition to our weekly practices we usually plan one or two workshops with a choral clinician, as well as evenings with guest directors.
We have two major performances per year, a Family Christmas Concert in December and a Spring Concert in May. We are very involved with our community and, by giving benefit concerts, help to raise funds for other organizations such as the Richmond Hospice Society, Canadian Cancer Foundation and Tim Horton’s Kids Camps. As a group member of the Richmond Community Arts Council, the Richmond Singers has established a legacy that attests to a vested interest in the arts in Richmond... less
