World touring choir from Norway with 900 years of choir tradition.
We bring you classical repertoires as well as delightful Norwegian folk songs.
The Nidaros Cathedral Boys’ Choir has over 900 years of rich history. It’s the main choir of Nidaros Cathedral which is located in the ancient capital of Trondheim, Norway. It’s also the main choir of Royal events.
The choir will celebrate its 100 years of modern history in 2027 with a global tour.
Current artistic director and conductor, Bjørn Moe - a former soprano in the choir, successfully reinvented the choir since joining as conductor in 1973.
There are 100 members in the main choir, 70 sopranos/altos (9-15 years old) and 30 tenors/basses (15-68 years old). In addition, the mini-boys choir, has 40 boys ages 7-9.
Apart from religious repertoire, the choir also sings Norwegian folk songs as well as songs from different cultures around the world. Each year the Choir collaborates with orchestras to present... less
