Members of the Southwest Children’s Chorus range in age from 7 to 14. The Chorus is a musical performance and education program for children and youth, emphasizing the development of musical skills and understanding. The mission of the organization is to provide quality music instruction with the goal of attaining the highest level of artistic excellence in choral music performance. Through its music activities, the choir helps to foster the personal and social growth of its members and promotes their sense of self-esteem, accomplishment and pride. The Tour Choir has performed across the world in over 35 States in addition to Austria, Canada, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Switzerland. In addition, the choir has performed in every major venue in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and across the State of Texas.  less

The Boychoir’s reputation for excellence has brought invitations from local and national music conventions, as well as sporting events and touring Broadway companies. The Boychoir has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Minnesota Opera, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony, the Prague Philharmonic, Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion on National Public Radio, amongst others. This season our choirboys will be featured in Minnesota American Choral Directors Association’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Golden Finale Concert along with first-time appearances with the Wayzata Symphony Orchestra, Edina Chorale and St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church Choir (Orff’s Carmina Burana). We will participate in the third annual Minnesota State Festival of Boychoirs in April. Chorale membership is reserv...  moreThe Drew University Chorale is Drew’s advanced choral ensemble. Usually consisting of 20 to 24 members, the Chorale focuses primarily on chamber choir repertoire and tackles a wide variety of styles, languages, and techniques. Chorale membership is reserved for students who demonstrate some level of music-reading ability, experience singing in advanced choral ensembles, and/or the potential to thrive in a small, advanced chamber choir environment. During the audition process, careful attention is given to maintaining artistic balance among the sections of the chorus. In addition to performances throughout the academic year, students in Chorale are expected to remain on campus for an additional week after the conclusion of each spring semester to perform in Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies and participate in end-of-year touring activities.  less

The Chorale is the premier, choral ensemble of the University. The ensemble consists of approximately 24-32 vocalists selected through a voice placement process and performs traditional/advanced choral literature from all periods. Students who have been...  moreThe Chorale is the premier, choral ensemble of the University. The ensemble consists of approximately 24-32 vocalists selected through a voice placement process and performs traditional/advanced choral literature from all periods. Students who have been active in choral ensembles in high school or college are encouraged to audition for this choir. Auditions for Chorale can take place at anytime to fill necessary spots in the group. Once students are selected for Chorale, they are members until they choose to leave, are removed, or when they graduate. In addition to its regular concert schedule, the Chorale tours each spring (Orlando, ’09; NYC, ’10; Atlanta, ’11, Boston, ’12, Orlando, ’13). A yearly scholarship is offered to people who are successfully placed in the group.  less
