His refashiONEd version with the famous Latin text Ubi caritas et amor was commissiONEd by Prince William and premiered by the Choirs of Westminster Abbey and Her Majesty's Chapel Royal, conducted by James O'Donnell, at the Royal Wedding of His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales with Miss Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey in April 2011. Mealor uses a combination of a plainchant style and misleading harmonic suspensions similar to those of Eric Whitacre or Morten Lauridsen. The Joy Voices Choir has not stopped: we have chosen a song from our repertoire and each of us, from our own home, has recorded it. The result is, for us, a new performance, different from the usual, which we share to send you our best wishes so that you can spend this difficult period serenely, despite everything.
