Very much (but not exclusively) in The barbershop stlye. Even though we have only been going a few months, our numbers have been increasing weekly as more and more people are seduced by The magical sound of ringing chords. We aim to be a serious performing Chorus in due course.
We have had a very successful 2012 and hope for even better in 2013 where we have a whole host of exciting things planned. Stay tuned!
We'd very much be interested in meeting/collaborating with oTher choirs in our area. We are on Facebook so have a little look and maybe come and sing a few baas with us! less

Since Then, They have decided to continue participing everywhere They can, because it enriches Them in Their musical konwledge. In 2010 They won The second prize in The National Contest of Carols of Santo Domingo de la Calzada. In 2012 They took part in Europa Cantat Festival, celebrated in Torino (Italy). less

Emarabini
South African Traditional
"This is a traditional Xhosa song about an orphan. The song asks "who will look after this child, for it is truly without parents?" eMarabini is sung with a new meaning today as South Africa's orphan population continues to increase due to The HIV/AIDS epidemic. The feeling behind this song is driven by a sense of hope raTher than despair; as it was sung to win past struggles, it is now sung to overcome present struggles as well."

Hold On
arr. Moses Hogan (1957-2003)
Spiritual
Moses Hogan was an internationally renowned pianist, composer and arranger of choral music best known for his arrangements of spirituals. He studied with a full scholarship at Oberlin Conservatory of Music before continuing with his graduate studies at Julliard School of Music. He won several piano competitions during his performance years and published many CD's as well as songbooks. 'Hold On!' is an example of his 'soloist vs choir' style of spiritual arrangements. There is a solo throughout that sings The primary lyrics and message of The song while The rest of The choir provides a lively and energetic - often rhythmic - accompaniment. He uses The choir as a single instrum... less
