The re...  morePrima Choir Bulgaria conductor - Aneta Dragneva-Danailova Prima Choir has been founded in 1996 in the pretty Bulgarian town on the Black Sea coast – Pomorie, by 25 women, practicing versatile jobs, but united by one common love – the Music. The repertoire includes works of different styles and epochs. The main part of the production is dedicated to the Church Slavonic music, variations of authentic Bulgarian folklore, and, in the same time, productions of modern Bulgarian authors. The vocal ensemble has set the ambitious task to reach a homogenous and beautiful sound, expressiveness and the right stylistic interpretation. “Prima” Choir has delivered artistic tours in Sweden (1997), Poland (1997), Greece (2002), Portugal (2004), France (2006), Albania (2010), Greece(2013)… The formation has taken part in the Balkan Mountains fest in Veliko Tarnovo in 2001. All members are professional singers and musicians, all of them graduated the Higher Musical Academy in Lviv and their diverse musical backgrounds...  moreORPHEUS vocal group founded in Lviv, Ukraine, in autumn 2000, is a male a cappella group with eight singers. All members are professional singers and musicians, all of them graduated the Higher Musical Academy in Lviv and their diverse musical backgrounds contribute to the musical expression of the ensemble.The group is flexible in number to expend into different styles of singing. All music are performed a cappella. The main areas of speciality are Orthodox church music (liturgical), folk and popular Ukrainian songs and some examples of original Ukrainian, world music as well as well-known a cappella classics. The women of Mabe Ladies Choir take their music making very seriously, constantly striving to achieve the highest artistic and technical standards. That said, they do spend an inordinate amount of time laughing! Whether it’s in the rehearsal room or the concert hall the emphasis is on fun & enjoyment, for Choir and audience alike. The Choir is known for its adventurous programming, seeking out music written specifically for women and frequently commissioning new works. Its appearances include performances at the distinguished National Convention of the American Choral Directors Association (February 2003 and March 1997), including memorable New York performances at Carnegie Hall, Riverside Church, and Avery Fisher Hall. Elektra was honoured to represent Canada at the Fourth World Symposium on Choral Music in Sydney, Australia (August 1996).
