No venue is too small or too big.The Choir regularly sings for charitable organisations and has over the years raised several thousands of pounds. All members of Newquay Male Voice Choir, they are a rehearsed, a cappella, male chorus with a repertoire consisting of over 100 songs including Shanties, Cornish folk, 1960s classics, seasonal & sacred Music. Their 4-part harmony and infectious humour has brought them popularity as their repertoire and reputation have grown. Entertaining for pleasure, they raise thousands of pounds for voluntary, charity & community groups. £1200 profit from donations and their first CD was donated to “The Cove” Cancer Centre and further donations have been made to RNLI and Cornwall Blood Bikes (who have received more than £3400 as their current charity). Live broadcasts on local radio and a recording by ‘Spotlight’ for BBC Television followed. He was also the former conductor of the "Chamber Choir of the High Institute of Music" in Damascus, and the conductor of the "Urjwan Choirs" in Tartous. The main goal of establishing the "Ladies of Melody Choir" was to highlight the role of Arab women in the cultural and Musical scene, introduce the culture of choral and collective singing in its contemporary concept to the local artistic culture, and revive the authentic Musical heritage of the Levant and the Arab world, which has begun to disappear and decline in the face of superficiality and degradation dominating the general Arab artistic scene. Together with the jazz-saxophonist Stefan Kuchel and the Sirius Quartet, the young Men's Choir performs contemporary works. The Quartet members describe themselves as artists of improvisation who break out of the conventional vocabulary of sound for a string quartet. Most pieces on this CD were written especially for the Sonux Ensemble, and thus composed to the singers' strengths. "We have worked on these pieces together with the composers, and given them their first performances over the course of the last five years. This disc features only world premiere recordings and, literally, unheard of choral Music, " the Choir's director Hans-Joachim Lustig notes. The works recorded on this CD focus on the topics of light and love. The eponymous poem by Charles Anthony Silvestri that lends its title to the disc frames and connects the two topics.
