In a dechristianized Netherlands, eighty men, including many young people, may sing and spread the message of God's mercy for sinful people. The set was recorded and produced in December of 2010 by Allen Larsen in the CWU music building concert hall. The poems, by Joanne Gunnerson, were set by composer John Muehleisen. Bounty and Aversion to Carrots were written for the Seattle choir Opus 7, The third song, RAH!, was commissioned by CWU. Les Chantres Musiciens’ repertoire is both varied and complex, comprising a range of works from the Romantic period (including Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, and Brahms) to Post-Romantic and modern compositions (including, for example, Schafer, Reger, Schönberg, and Langlais). The ensemble has earned a reputation for excellence, confirmed by prizes at national and international competitions, tours, and several distinguished recordings. Their first tour brought them through Germany and France, garnering critical and public acclaim, particularly at the Festival de Musique de Moselle. The concert with John Rutter & Chamber Choir of Europe, conducted by Nicol Matt (Germany) in MÜNSTER of Schwäbisch Gmünd was a huge success! John Rutter received the prestigious European Church Music Prize 2019 for outstanding contributions to church music.
