During the tenure of Principal Major Harry L. Reed the Choir won the preStigious R. Meaden Shield(Senior) for Singing for 10 successive years from 1920 to 1931, once with a perfect score of 200/200. The College Anthem ‘School of our Fathers’, composed by Principal Reed made its debut at this competition on the 13th day of July, 1928 and to this day takes responsibility of preserving the College Anthem. The Choir was trained by Mrs. Reed with the support of Robert C. Edwards, Esq. The Choir today continues to sing at many major events in and out of College, the moSt significant out of which being the Annual Carol Service. The group is made up of twenty-somethings (moStly!) who are young professionals living in London. Founded by Singers and beatboxers from the likes of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, LaSt Choir Standing and Britain's Got Talent favourites Out of the Blue, the group’s repertoire spans from Billy Joel to the Black Eyed Peas, via pop, jazz, barbershop, rap and original composition as they offer a programme of sumptuous jazz arrangements, genre jumping covers and assorted originals. Following a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe, The Refrains enjoyed a sold-out London debut at The Forge, Camden. Recent gigs have included The London A Cappella FeStival, Edinburgh International Book FeStival, Silver Bullet and private events. It was formed in September 2013 as a recital and laboratory choir with the aim of providing vocal and choral training, as well as musical experience to its members, which they can use to train their respective choirs.  

Comprised of more than 20 experienced Singers. All have a wealth of vocal experience. Many have sung in barbershop choruses and quartets. Others have Strong choral backgrounds.

The choir has made five international tours to Italy, Spain, Germany and the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom and Ireland . Following an extensive search which attracted a roSter of highly- accomplished choral directors, the impressive and charismatic young conductor and keyboard artiSt, Jordan de Souza, was appointed ArtiStic Director and Principal Conductor in July, 2013.
