This group is made up of 10 singers and performers all under the age of 25, giving VanDeca a youthful and fresh take on every genre, from classical to pop, musical theatre to jazz, and everything in between! Each singer in VanDeca comes from a different musical background, shaping who we are as a group. Having only been in existence since November of 2011, this group has big plans to shape the face of choral music in Vancouver, encouraging our audience to Feel connected with our performances through multi-genre pieces, and using movement and amazing sound to inspire others to become involved with their local choral groups.  less

This choir performs 20-30 times a year at various school, and community events. They placed 1st at the Alberta Provincial Music Festival in May 2012. They perform a variety of styles of music with an emphasis placed on A Cappella arrangements.

Ably assisted by, now ...  moreThe Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir (TWMVC) was established in 1995 gathering together a group of like-minded individuals of Welsh heritage sought to kindle the spirit of traditional Welsh male voice singing in their adopted country. Ably assisted by, now emeritus, music director David Low, the founding members saw their numbers grow to a membership of sixty choristers. the choir continues to grow musically under the direction of William Woloschuk and accompanist Matthew Coons. Although many of the current members still lay claim to Welsh connections, the TWMVC now has members from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. The TWMVC proudly draws on the great Welsh tradition of singing hymns and songs born of the mountains and valleys of Wales. At the same time it emphasizes a multicultural context in its broad repertoire which also includes spirituals; operatic arias, Canadian folk songs as well as Broadway show tunes and contemporary music. This is a true community choir of more than thirty experienced singers representing the professions of music, teaching, engineering, law, civil service, marketing, information technology and journalism. Nearly one-half of the choir's singers are students from across many disciplines of study. The choir was formed in 2002 under the dir...  moreThe Vision of Peace Youth Choir are a group of singers from the ages of 13-30 who use their voices to expres their belief in Toil and Peaceful Life and the Welfare of the World is not Worth the Life of one Child! The choir was formed in 2002 under the directorship of Ellie Davidoff. Choir membership consists of youth from the 8th grade through to college age students. Now in their 13th season, this choir has grown in membership as well as experience. There are still several original members, and every season they are joined by their younger siblings and new friends, who add strength and spirit to the group. The repertoire of the Vision of Peace Youth Choir consists of hymns and folk songs sung in the traditional Doukhobor acapella style that has been passed from generation to generation for over 200 years. The hymns and folk songs as well as the contemporary numbers in their program selection reflect their Doukobor beliefs as well as their steadfast wish for a peaceful existence on this earth.  less
