ABOUT the PIECE:
Composer Vijay Singh writes: “the Lord's Prayer was inspired by Oliver Messian's choral masterpiece "O Sacrum Convivium", with its use of dense harmony, existentialism, hypnotic transcendental tonal treatment, and grateful piety.” the composer decided to use the universal "Lord's Prayer" text and various Musical ideas to communicate the power and hope of this prayer. the piece builds to climax at "for Thine is the Power and Glory forever!" and ends reflectively, savoring the "Amen".
