Johansen Choirs are truly honored to represent our community in various capacities as well as having the opportunity to tour throughout California, often giving students their first experience outside of Stanislaus County. We are excited That nearly 60 students will participate in the vocal music program at Johansen High School this year. Last year our choirs participated in multiple festivals, sang by invitation at many local events and toured San Diego. The department’s Viking Singers won a contest this summer and sang on stage with Foreigner at the County Fair. These talented students have been invited to participate in Gallo Center for the Arts first ever a cappella festival in April 2013. is).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

We sing most types of choral music, and have occasionally dipped our toes into both jazz and folk repertoire.

Mother Nature derailed, straining everyone to misery. Large structures and small rafts have turned to dust and ashes. Jesus, Marie, and Joseph... Grace and Mercy... Mother Nature derailed, straining everyone to misery. We see, but we don't understand, It happened so suddenly. The earth trembled! The earth shook harder than a desert's leaf. Help! Help! Rescue me, I beg you! I'm at a loss for words... Dies irae, dies illa; (Day of wrath, day of anger) Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine. (Grant them eternal rest, Lord.) Haiti! Haiti! What an unbearable pain, Tighten your belt. Haiti! Haiti! You are a valiant woman, Hang in there, don't give up...
