Our repertoire embraces a cappella music, from renaissance to contemporary, as well as choral works with keyboard and orchestral accompaniment. 2012 concerts range fom JS Bach St John Passion, with orchestra, to a programme of Scottish music (Carver to MacMillan) via Horrotorio!

The words are my own and tell of children playing their games in the dusty streets (ie of Bethlehem) unaware that a miracle has happened and asking them to look up to the angels and join their singing. Renaissance, 19th century, modern choral music, pop, .... - we like nearly every theme and style. We try to use original languages and love to engage us in music which is not often heard. We go on stage in self-organized concerts, but perform in smaller occasions, too.  

Comprised of more than 20 experienced singers. All have a wealth of vocal experience. Many have sung in barbershop choruses and quartets. Others have strong choral backgrounds.

The choir sings a wide variety of repertoire, including pop, classical, musical theatre and sacred music. The choir's accompanist is Catharine Boyd-Moss, who joined the choir in September 2018.

With the addition of Richard Larson as artistic director and a handful of additional singers, the group quickly found a footing in the cultural fabric of Denver, Colorado. Now entering its 15th full season of performing, the group has expanded into an auditioned ensemble of 54 volunteer singers who meet weekly to rehearse. Many of the singers come from schools with strong choral music programs, such as Augustana, Brigham Young, Concordia, Luther, St. Olaf, Wartburg, and the University of Northern Colorado. Kantorei established itself as one of the nation’s premier choral ensembles after performing as an auditioned choir for the 2003 National American Choral Directors Association Conference at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
