Founded in 1989 by Mr. Albert Morland to provide an opportunity for ex-members of the Wonderboom High School Choir to continue singing together after matriculating, it has since evolved to include members from a broader community that come from various backgrounds and professions (including law, accounting, nursing, teaching and IT) and are between 18 and 65 years of age. The choir has toured and performed across South Africa during the past 30 years and has an established reputation as a warm, friendly and “no-fuss” group with good choral sound who are just as comfortable performing at nursing homes and other charitable events as they are performing alongside the best choirs in the world on International stages, for instance, at the 10th World Choir Games in 2018, where they took home a silver medal (79.5%) in the champion’s category for mixed adult choirs. As most of its repertoire was used in a liturgical setting, Creátus Chamber aims to share a more spiritual interpretation of the music. The group is enthusiastic about sharing repertoire from the vast heritage of sacred polyphony with the Catholic Community as well as with the public.

Our program consists of 5 choirs; Chorale, Women's Ensemble, Concert Choir, Bella Voce and Chamber Singers. We also have C.A.P. (Contemporary A Cappella Project), Women's Octet, and the Innuendos. The last three are co-curricular and the last two are student directed.

The composition of members is unique in the international classical music world: all members are from one large family: six siblings between 8 and 21 years of ageand the two parents. Artistic leader: the parents, Zita and Vilmos Tóth, but the children also participate in creating musical conceptions and decisions. The parents have been singing in choirs since they were children and have participated in numerous competitions, festivals and courses. The children have also sung in choirs from an early age, usually singing solos. They study singing, musical theory and instrumental music. Our purpose is to promote the miracle of singing and music - that we owe so much - to people. With each passing year we strive to sing more and more beautiful compositions with a higher quality of performance.
