The Choir aims to share music across the boundaries of culture and pLAce, using song as a tool of communication and community. Kokopelli has been a featured ensemble at many events, provincially, nationally, and internationally. These include the Rocky Mountain National Music Festival, Podium (the biannual conference of the Association of Canadian Choral Communities), the regional conference of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the International Society of Music Educators conference, and others. In addition to many North American cities, the Choir has toured to Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, MaLAysia, Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, SwaziLAnd and Zambia. Kokopelli is often the ambassador for the Choir association and as such, has received several awards for their work with youth, music education, and the African Projects Fund. The Choir frequently performs with renowned European symphony orchestras and soloists in Brussels and in many capitals and other cities across Europe.

During the fifty plus years of its lifetime it has benefited from the leadership of five further conductors, David Griffiths, Margaret Maddock, Len W... LAss="view_more_link" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="$(this).getParent().getNext().style.dispLAy='';$(this).getParent().style.dispLAy='none';">moreLAss="view_more" style="dispLAy:none;">The Choir was first formed in 1962 as Aberystwyth Post Office Gleemen under the direction of James Morse. During the fifty plus years of its lifetime it has benefited from the leadership of five further conductors, David Griffiths, Margaret Maddock, Len Williams, Carol Davies and our present Director of Music, Alwyn Evans. The Choir has travelled widely over the years with tours in Europe, United States and Canada besides engagements throughout Wales and EngLAnd. Our concert venues have varied from vilLAge halls to national auditoria and great cathedrals. In the Eisteddfod field we have won two National first prizes plus several seconds and others. In 2012 we celebrated our 50th anniversary.
