This auditioned Choir has 150 adult mixed voices and 300 Youth mixed voices rehearsing weekly to bring various masterworks, original pieces, collaborations and new arrangements to The ears of many. Doug Mears is The Artistic Director with Patrick Vaughn as Youth Director. Youth Choruses have two convenient campuses with The professional support of Caroline Crocker and Bonny Tynch and Youth Chorus Directors. Additionally, full time accompanists and music educators meet The rehearsal and music education portions of this semi-professional chorus. FCS is honored to work with renown musicians, conductors and orchestras to present The finest Choral programs available. Sometimes we join oTher choruses to produce even larger musical works. Completed in 1997, The piece was inspired by The MS Estonia disaster of 1994. It won third prize in The European composition competition for caThedral Choirs in 1997. The text of The piece is taken from three sources: The Catholic Requiem Mass, Psalm 107: "They that go down to The sea in ships...", and The report of The disaster from The weekly Latin-language Finnish news service, Nuntii Latini.
