The song is there described as "a comic song" written and composed by James Yorkston (of Scotland) and arranged by Edmund Forman. because it is noted as printed with permission of an Edinburgh firm, there was clearly an earlier version. Although the song is the unofficial anthem of Dublin and generally regarded as Irish, it was, in fact, written by a Scotsman.
This outdoor performance was the culmination of a six-week project which creates a choir from scratch for one night only. Each winter and summer, Chris Rowbury gathers a random bunch of singers from in and around Ipswich. There are no auditions and all songs are taught and learnt by ear. Usually eight songs are learnt in six two-hour sessions and in the summer are performed outdoors near Ipswich. http://chrisrowbury.com less

We rehearsed for most of the day in two-choir sections, with our four choral directors, Scott Inglis-Kidger, Sarah Tenant-Flowers, Riccardo Bonci and Jonny Davies. After lunch we began to put the sections together. At 4pm we brought all 8 choirs together and Scott Inglis-Kidger led a most thrilling final performance.
The day marked the end of the 2012 workshops but fear not, our 2013 Choral Workshops series - Perfect Playlist - is now live on our website. platinumconsort.com/perfect-playlist.html We look forward to seeing you soon!

of course, the Yorkshire ditty "On Ilkley moor bar t'hat".
Well, as the day progressed to afternoon, other tunes got added, resulting in a curious potpourri for choir and piano.
The choir gets to sing "On Ilkla Moor", the Este psalter tune known to all, and also Auld Lang Syne.
The second voice, in its madrigalian way, gets a sly English cadence!.
Meanwhile, the piano also gets some sly references to "Sing a song of sixpence" and "Scotland the brave".
I sang it in G (ATBB) on this video, to fit my multitrack range,
but mixed choir versions are also available on musicaneo:
in C (SATB) (fairly high for the sopranos)

and in Bflat (SATB) (fairly low for the basses)
