Much of The music we sing is arranged in The barbershop style. Along with entertaining our local audience KCC competes in The Mid Atlantic District of The Barbershop Harmony Society and is a consistent champion in our Division. KCC also promotes quartet singing as well as a cappella singing among The youth in our region. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings 7pm and are always open for visitors so feel free to visit to find out more and to see if our group is right for you.  less

The choir sings evensong every Sunday during term and performs in concerts organised by Somerville Music Society. Somerville Choir is currently being conducted by David Crown. He is assisted by The two organ scholars, Douglas Knight and Robert Pecksmith (http://www.robert-smith.org.uk ), and choir manager Stefan Schwarz. Since David Crown took over as Director of Chapel Music in 2007, The choir has been involved in two opera productions (Purcell's 'Dido and Aeneas ' and Gluck's 'Orfeo ed Euridice') as well as concerts in Oxford, Brighton, Wells, Swindon, Upton upon Severn and Steeple Aston. In recent years The choir has also sung evensong at Southwark, Worcester, Winchester, Wells and Berlin CaThedrals. Listen to Eri Yamamoto and Choral Chameleon's Artistic Director Vince Peterson discussing The project, with footage from The November 2018 premiere at The Paul Taylor Dance Company Studios. The event culminated in a dance party encore with audience and choir dancing togeTher! After a simple lesson in The Obon dance from Shiga prefecture in Japan, The audience danced to a reprise of The final movement by The choir and trio.
