As a result of the love they had for choir music, they felt a need for a school choir to ... moreUviwe Senior Secondary School Choir, shortly know as Uviwe SSS Choir was founded in 1997 by a group of students, most of whom used to sing in various church choirs. As a result of the love they had for choir music, they felt a need for a school choir to be established. From the first year of its existence, choir was trained and prepared for the schools’ eisteddfods by two fellow students. In 1998, they both matriculated.
In the following year these students continued with the choir training and were compensated for their services by the School Governing Body (SGB). In 2001 they were snatched by nearby schools that were willing to pay them better wages and the SGB had to look for other people who could assist with choir training from the community. This continued until 2004, when the school employed a teacher who studied music at university.
In 2009 another teacher, who studied music too, came and volunteered his services at the school. In 2010 the teacher was employed on a temporary basis by the Department of... less
