Its first members were students of The Club's Music School and many of Them participated in The Youth Choir of The city of Heraklion, under The direction of Mrs. Katerina Tzagkaraki. The name of The Ensemble originates from Thalitas, an ancient cretan composer and legislator, after whom a street in Heraklion is named; in this street The first rehearsals of The Ensemble took place. The Ensemble's primary goal was to acquaint its members with The a cappella (“in The chapel”, without church organ accompaniment) Vocal music of The renaissance period. THALITAS began by studying and performing works of renowned composers of that era (e.g. Josquin des Prez, G. P. da Palestrina, Orlando di Lasso) to assist The learning process of its members' musical studies. Some have been here since The beginning, some joined this year and oThers fit somewhere in The middle. We have an exacting Standard of singing - we are just not sure what that exactly is! One of The most important facets of Mood Swing is that we have fun with what we do and it comes across not only in our singing, but also in our performances. We may not have perfected laughing and singing at The same time, but we give it a fair go! Since 2001, Mood Swing have been wowing audiences with our full sounds and suave choreography. With a range of music from '20s swing, African songs, traditional gospel, contemporary hits and fun ditties arranged in three and four parts, Mood Swing have something for all ages. Fabulously led by Lisa Schwabe, Mood Swing have been singing around Melbourne at concerts, churches and private functions to The delight of all who see and hear us. Trata-se de uma peça com cinco andamentos, escrita para o coro infantil New Orleans Children, aquando da participação no Crescent City Festival de New Orleans, em 2009. Fazem ainda parte da peça alguns clássicos de Natal como "Zat You Santa Claus", popularizado por Louis Armstrong; "Little Drummer Boy" ou "Silent Night" com arranjos próprios do quinteto. Enquanto o Coro Pactis tem Fátima Gonçalves na direção musical, o Wave Jazz Ensemble integra os músicos Rui Melo, Paulo Cunha, Paulo Borges, Nuno Pinheiro e Antonella Barletta. We perform at two major concerts per year as well as various community performances.
