The choir is dedicated to moulding a world-class choral outfit that offers a platform for Kenyan Boys to nurture their natural talents in MUSIC, dance, and drama while imparting life principles of discipline, hard work perseverance, persistence and determination. In order to shape a youth citizenry that is responsible and of impeccable integrity for effective leadership in the society, the choir advocates for the attainment of quality education for its members. Education is elementary in the augmentation of any individual towards being a responsible and an empowered member of the society; a fact that the Kenyan Boys Choir believes in and strives to inculcate.  less

You do not need any previous MUSIC experience to be part of this lovely community. Imagine joining a choir with no audition that offers professionally led rehearsals and a variety of resources to help you improve.  

Our society is a real opportunity for people to get the most from singing. We have a great MUSICal director, immensely skilled and fun to sing for. Every rehearsal gives us something to discover about the MUSIC of all kinds of different styles, how to sin...  moreOur society is a real opportunity for people to get the most from singing. We have a great MUSICal director, immensely skilled and fun to sing for. Every rehearsal gives us something to discover about the MUSIC of all kinds of different styles, how to sing, communication with the audience , keeping time, tuning, rhythm etc. The choir works with MUSICally trained people and singers entirely new to singing; some read MUSIC and some not. We give great concerts, sometimes of classics such as Elijah (Nov 2012), madrigals, anthems, and lighter MUSIC such as the delightful Noah and his Floating Zoo. Like all choirs however we need more singers to keep the choir progressing. We are therefore expanding the ways we reach out to people who might like to give singing a try, or who would like to return to singing after a break, perhaps to have a family or because of a house move. They were under the tu...  moreEast Rand Male Symphony was established in August 1990 by the members of the then Kenneth Masekela SSS Boys Choir after winning the TUATA National School Choir Competition in the category of Boys Choirs for the 4th successive year. They were under the tutelage of Mojalefa Motloung. The choir is made up of members from the East Rand which is now affectionately known as Ekurhuleni. The young men who established the choir in 1990 are now responsible men taking their place in their communities. We currently have over 35 members of which ages range from 20 to 50. We are still under the baton of Mojalefa Motloung who also forms part of our Conductors Forum.  less

MGC travelled widely in Europe and had a HIGH standard. In 2003, we changed our name to Manx Voices. We love singing to community groups, in church services and concerts. We compete in our local MUSIC festivals and have sung on stage with Blake. We are a very democratic, mutually supportive group of women ranging in age from 10 to 70!
