The Richmond Singers is a 55 voice Women’s choir which began performing in 1971. Our purpose is “to sing, in harmony, a variety of music for the enjoyment of the members as well as to give public and private performances for the listening pleasure of othe...  moreThe Richmond Singers is a 55 voice Women’s choir which began performing in 1971. Our purpose is “to sing, in harmony, a variety of music for the enjoyment of the members as well as to give public and private performances for the listening pleasure of others”. During our musical season (September – June), the choir practices on Monday evenings from 7 – 9:30 PM at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Richmond. In addition to our weekly practices we usually plan one or two workshops with a choral clinician, as well as evenings with guest directors. We have two major performances per year, a Family Christmas Concert in December and a Spring Concert in May. We are very involved with our community and, by giving benefit concerts, help to raise funds for other organizations such as the Richmond Hospice Society, Canadian Cancer Foundation and Tim Horton’s Kids Camps. It's of course a wink to my favorite musical movie - I must have watched it at least a dozen times. It keeps inspiring my love for singing. We mostly sing musical songs, but not exclusively. We are dedicated to making this a great amateur choir. But, as Mary Poppins sang: 'In every job that must be done / there is an element of fun / You find the fun / and SNAP the job's a game'

Afterwards, simmer the audience at low heat for five minutes and finally – depending on the favored intensity – let it rise by 200 degrees for about half an hour up to 1, 5 hours. The result will satisfy every single taste and linger on for a very long time. A feast for both eyes and ears, looking for peers. This displays the recipe forming the basis of an evening with the str8voices from Hanover. Immense a cappella- energy out of 8 young throats, interpreting songs such as “run run run” by the Real group in a quite own and individual way. Apart from that, str8voices’ wide repertoire consists of own songs and arrangements. All eight singers were skilled in a classical way, educating themselves in Swing and Jazz by attending several workshops and masterclasses (with Kirby Shaw, Bob Stoloff...    less
